Yesterday Win 10 updated itself. New feature added plus a cumulative update a d a security update. Hours it took to download. So I put my laptop to sleep for the night figuring the download would proceed. It did. Woke it up and for some time it was stuck on 8% install for the new feature. Finally the install happen. While organizing files and stuff, clearing space on my hard drive and sending some stuff to my backup HD, my system began to slow down to nearly a crawl. I thought perhaps it was ASC as I recently upgraded to the latest version. Turns out that was not the case. Opening explorer became a pain, almost a full minute to open.
