MIght as well point out that there is probably going to be a bunch of malware/fisching going on with this subject, seems to be the trend these days.  Browse carefully.

DC no offense meant towards you for posting the picture, I'm glad he has been given his notice due just as much as anyone else. but the picture grossed me out and that is saying a lot.

and regarding schleimig's post, I disagree with him/her but we've all said something stupid at one time or another, let it go.

God, I guess you only watch movies marked for children if a picture of Bin Ladens head held firmly by his hair in Lady Liberty's hand with blood dripping from the severed head grossed you out. I got the picture from another forum and have posted it on numerous forums. This is the only forum that took it down, I guess they saw it in context to the conversation on the killer he was. Of course they may not have been as prudish. I find language used here at time vulgar and unnecessary but I would never request it be taken down. Why you ask? Having served I believe every one has a god given right to express themselves in words no matter how displeasing and vulgar that expression may be.

Excellent thought, DaveRI.

i don’t know what to say... im reading this topic since this morning i thought this page was about customization.
But this whole topic turns out to be misplaced no offense Uvah and i do understand you even if you say i should shutup and i feel for everyone involved in the tragedy of the attack or terror act on the 9/11/2001.
I would love to see the people responsable in this act in front of a court and pulled into punishment as well and as much as you do.But im sure that trial would involve more than foreigners...
I made a dumb post  talking about an accident - Prove ohh the old story about show us evidence prove will be hard to deliver since everything mentioned by scientists or by highly educated people that spend their whole live working with with explosives and destructions over the past 30 years of their lifetime seem to be not good enough and believable, those people are all insane and conspiracy theorists ! ? My conclusion people have their eyes and ears shut.  And if someone thinks different well yeah you call them names.  But the good thing is that i don’t  care, i do have my own opinion.Im not a Lemming
Back in the days i researched about it like everyone else and I found some stuff weird, it all started with the research about building 7.
Just research for yourself a little if you dare...A perfect destruction.
From this point on i continued watching and reading about it. There is an article about Niels Harrit that claims to have found Nano thermite in the dust of the buildings .and various types of different explosives... the guy is a Dr. Proff.  just one example of prove there is tons of material like that. But im sure you will point something out again that will state him as liar.
And besides i also believe in god but i have no evidence that he really exists. You believe in what you want to believe.

I agree with Jafo and Island Dog. My question is why did we need to give Osama Bin Laden an Islamic burial? Why not lay him down in the desert and feed him to the vultures or to wild dogs. Vultures dispose of the dead anyway... and supposedly Islamic people do not like dogs so would that not be a good idea as not to make him a shrine? I thank the military for their service everyday and especially for killing Osama Bin Laden. It may have been ten years but we finally got him and justice was done. Revenge is a dish best served COLD!

My question is why did we need to give Osama Bin Laden an Islamic burial?

Was that an Islamic burial?  According to a Sunni educator, his burial at sea was a sin, and according to our officials the reason we did that, was because we couldn't find a country to accept his remains. http://content.usatoday.com/communities/ondeadline/post/2011/05/bin-laden-buried-at-sea-apparently-after-saudi-arabia-refused-the-body/1

I like to think of it as, much like Luca Brasi, he "sleeps with da fishes."

Lets not take this beyond the OP. There has been enough sorrow because of Bin Laden. To add to it with feelings hurt does no good to anyone. He is but one that needs to go. There are others just as bad and just as guilty. Lets all just thank God there is one less to worry about. Shleimig - your opinion is your own and I'll not deny you that but just remember who and what we are dealing with. These are murderers, plain and simple. They use their faith as a shield which in my opinion is blasphemous. No God advocates the killing of innocent people.

There was nothing wrong with the payback picture, You have not removed any posters abusive language posts which at times are vulgar or some could even be considered vulgar. However it is your forum do what you will, just next time take into context what was being posted. I know that most moderators do not thnk that fairness is a quality they need to have.

That's an opinion.

Ten years ago the images being removed were ones of severed heads of eagles and bloodstained US flags.  It seems nothing changes in the life and death of Bin Laden.

Americans are a 'funny' bunch of people who by and large take offense at others [anyone] abusing or denigrating their 'icons', be that the Stars and Stripes being defaced/burned or monuments of their identity/liberty/ideals being tainted by association [and particularly poor photoshop].

In contrast Australians really don't care [about theirs], but as site Administrators we're all obliged to have respect for the sensibilities of the majority, not cater to the whims of the few, no matter where we are from.

*****************************

Burying Bin Laden with appropriate speed shows respect for his religion, not for him.

The targets of his terrorism are better than he ever was.  In hindsight he may have learned something from that. [were not that his demise makes it problematic]...

He was given a Moslem funeral because his soul, no matter how tainted belongs to G-d. His body is of this world, and it's burial presented the potential to become a martyr's tomb for the misguided and the evil.

I see no contradictions there. I see a great deal of deference to a murderous person, even if our motives were self serving. i.e. showing the Moslem peoples that we were at war with the terrorist, not his religion.

All things are relative, Uvah.  In the same paragraph you say "he is but one that needs to go," then you thank your God that he's gone, then you excuse your hateful attitude toward "them" by saying they are murderers and label them blasphemous because they use their faith as a shield and then claim no god advocates killing of innocent people.

For the sake of debate, no god claims adults are innocent.  (Just from the Christian Bible alone, there is Psalms 14:3, and Romans 3:23--convicting everybody).  Technically, bin Laden didn't lay a hand on anyone on 9/11 -- he instigated others to do his bidding; and our country DID provide him with blood thirsty knowledge because we wanted to use him as our attack dog against the Red menace.  Now, we had to put him down, which is the common end to many an attack dog, but I don't think he holds all the blame on why he needed to be put down.

He had the misfortune of being born in a country that is predominantly Muslim, and backwards enough to practice that faith in a fundamental way. If you had been born there, under the same circumstances, you wouldn't be calling him blasphemous.

Whether one is religious or not, sometimes the Killing of a tyrant/terrorist/mass murderer, is a necessary evil. It is not something to celebrate, One would hope in an enlightened world people would be taught religious/racial, tolerance towards others, he was and is proof that as a world, we have still along way to go towards true peace.
