A place to keep my work.
Stupid is as stupid does I guess.

I read the article, wasn't too impressed simply because MS continues to pull all kinds of BS without telling anyone. Don't mind the repetition in the article, just scroll down to the last paragraph.

Just another Microshit screw-up.

Well now that's disappointing.  I'm really not fond of that upgrade/reinstall process to get a clean installation.  Thanks for the post Uvah.

I'm glad I stuck with 8.1. I feel sorry for the average PC user that have to deal with all these Win 10 updates.

on Nov 22, 2015

good thing i burnt the dvd...... and have the iso

it's idiotic. the best thing for me with threshold 2 is that i can clean install win10 with win 7 key without messing about with upgrading 1st. afaik, trying to install win 7 on skylake requires a bit of fiddling. i guess they are trying to get people to buy win10 instead of using their old win7 retails keys when getting a new machine?

whilst one can understand why recent win10 rtm installers won't get threshold for a bit, i fail to see why new 7/8upgraders now shouldn't be able to get threshold2 directly and be able to roll back to win7/8 from threshold 2 if they choose so within the 30 days....

I'm staying with my 8.1. All this BS with MS is getting out of hands.

Well while it may seem stupid and idiotic are not MS allowed to do as they wish with how they deliver updates?. After all they do own the OS and can decide how and when updates are delivered for it. We may not like it, We may piss and moan about it but in the end like sheep we will just bend over and take it.

on Nov 22, 2015

No, you bend over and take it.  I block the OS from communicating with the update server if they don't play nice and give me ways to circumvent it otherwise.

Plus we get to use WindowBlinds.

Last I checked windows 10 was still a free upgrade for home users, you get what you pay for

At the rate Microsoft is going you can expect the next version is probably going  to flop. I don't know why anyone would stick with 8.1 it sucks. At least in 10 they brought back the start menu. Anyways the only reason why people change operating systems is because someone convinced software dealers to obsolete operating systems. Different operating systems is minor for computer operating if they didn't obsolete I would never upgrade especially considering the loss of power with the scaling down of Dos. I also want to point out it was dirty of Microsoft to sue bookman's for selling used Microsoft software, Even if I hadn't downloaded 10 for free. How different are these operating systems anyway. Who cares that Microsoft revoked windows 10 for free. You are pretty much the same until they obsolete your operating system.

Microsoft's response to criticism to their move does not bear out..........me thinks something is up with the November Update. I updated via the media creation tool and ISO's and I am not seeing any issues with my rigs.......but there have been talks about a bitlocker issue. We'll see

that only makes sense as a (1 month) delaying tactic

speculation of there being a key glitch not giving right version

on Nov 23, 2015

That's interesting.

MS will sort it out. I see on some sites that people are saying that they've done away with their QA and relying on feedback from their 'insiders'. I can't believe that's true. Surely not. Internal QA has to play an important role prior to release.

My own personal experience with 10 is great and I would not want to go back to 7 or 8.1, for love nor money...........but I have full confidence that MS will sort out this issue and the OS will go from strength to strength.

on Nov 24, 2015

Because MS refuses to offer credible explanations for their actions, IMO, they cannot be trusted. I will not trust them. Period! Besides......I have the 1511 ISO.

Free 'til June.

I can wait to upgrade.
