there is no one there and she takes her shirt off with nothing

underneath and says she's married.

comes over and shoves a dollar down your pants.

Some how you end up talking to the guy about football.

They leave and 45 minutes later she comes back alone

and picks you up and takes you back to your place.

Is that inappropriate behavior?

Your room mates girl friend stops by unannounced looking

for him. You let her in so she can wait a while and see if he shows up.

Once in side she comes over and pulls your pants down and 

your mind is blown.

Is that inappropriate behavior?

You are at a gas station and a woman you don't know comes over and starts

talking to you. You say no and walk to your car and try to escape.

As you wait to pull into traffic she followed you on foot though

a parking lot and is standing behind your car smoking a cigarette.

Is that inappropriate behavior?

If you don't believe this you are in denial and should see a psychiatrist.

Smoking within the vicinity of a gas [petrol] station IS 'inappropriate' behaviour .... it's also dangerous...

There is a culture of inappropriate sexual behaviour in the TV and movie industries across the world, among other places.  Powerful figures use their positions to treat newcomers and those below them disgracefully, and it has gone on for far too long because there has been in place a code of silence among colleagues.... and threats to those who were harmed by this nasty culture.

Several Australian TV stars have been called out just recently, possibly in response to the Weinstein thing, but it has been going on for the last 50 years or more because of the code of silence and the threats to young, impressionable up-and-comers.  Nobody was game or willing to talk openly about it.... hence it continues.

Hopefully these exposes will help bring an end to it all and see the perps doing some time in prison

So women don't turn the tables and use sex to get to places of power?

And if they do they definitely won't go to prison?

Yes, every one of those is inappropriate behavior. All of them.

All of this nonsense had an origin point, not saying what that origin is for obvious reasons. Being that there are two sides to every coin will a female CEO or an equivalent be immediately fired or censured because of allegations made by a male employee? Somehow I don't see that happening. Welcome to our slow descent into hell. So sign up boys and girls, the tickets are one way only. Sorry but all this has touched a nerve.  

Of course they do, and no they won't.

Our society is being arrogant (people act as if they themselves would/could do no wrong) and hypocritical (everyone knows how the system works but they pretend to be shocked and surprised).  Wrong or right, this games between men and women are nothing new: men use power to get sex, women use sex to get power.

It has *always* been like this.

If you think about it, BOTH behaviors are equally wrong (although that is how the world turns): it takes two to tango, and without women willing to play the game, there would be no game to play. For every woman that said no, there were many more who willingly exchanged sex for a shot at stardom - and in doing so they made sure the system perpetuated itself and other women would have to face the same choice. These women are as guilty as the men that seduced them with promises, yet they are seen as victims and the men as predators. I say they are BOTH equally guilty, both predators but with different motivations: men wanted sex, women wanted fame. Both were wiling to sacrifice their integrity to get something they wanted, and both made a conscious choice to do so.

I'm not defending these behaviors, I'm just saying you cannot (should not) condemn one without condemning the other. You cannot say yes, then change your mind *after the fact* and accuse the other person of rape. That is NOT how it works, you have to be accountable for your own (bad) choices.

Uvah, I have to constantly remind myself of something to maintain what's left of my sanity.  The news takes the behavior of a very small percentage of people and puts it under a microscope until it seem really, really, big.  That's not to say there aren't real issues, but perspective is a good thing.

Beyond the sex thing, I'd say killing people in churches, schools and randomly by the dozens falls into "innaproprate" behaviour as well.

I understand that some things can be blown out of proportion but to what end. Society has devolved over the years when its really supposed to be going the other way. Since when do we run backwards. 

Of course they do, and it is no more right than men in positions of power using women for sex.

As for going to prison, probably not, but in my opinion, anyone who uses a position of power, etc, to get what essentially is non-consensual sex, is a predator and a rapist, and therefore, male or female, should do time in prison.  Let there be no distinction, both male AND female offenders should do time.

Yes AND NO, JC, not all cases are cut and dry.  I knew of a young woman whose friends encouraged her to be interviewed by a TV producer for a position on a [I shall not name] network's journalism team, and what happened to her was horrendous.  She was a Christian girl, a virgin [waiting until marriage] and somewhat a shrinking violet, and as much as she resisted his advances and promises of fame, she was no match and the man took advantage because he was bigger and stronger. 

The eventual outcome was him serving 15 years for rape and aggravated assault, but that will never restore her dignity or trust.  Last I heard she was working as a journalist on a different network, so she has been able to move on career-wise, but she never should have been subjected to that kind of thing to begin with.

Now this is extremely inappropriate behaviour and it horrifies me beyond explanation.  So without going into a gun control debate, we don't need that again, some members of society should never have firearms, particularly those with unstable mental health issues and persons with a history of violence.... including domestic violence.  A recent study showed that persons with a past of domestic violence were more likely to go on shooting sprees than other criminal types.

Sadly, there are no simple fixes to any of these problems, but maybe broad-based education programs would help in decreasing these crimes.

That IS rape, pure and simple, and not at all what I was talking about (which is why he got those more-than-deserved 15 years in prison).

Thing is, some of the women who are complaining about Weinstein and other powerful TV/movies moguls were very much in similar situations, where no for an answer was unacceptable.  I have no doubt there are a number of vixens who audition with views of offering themselves for parts.... and frankly, they have NO complaints because they asked for what they got.  Sadly, however, it is these women who aid to perpetuate the culture that can often capture quite innocent women whose intentions are purely to find work in the entertainment industries.... without having to give of themselves in ways they'd rather not.

Sadly, there are too many powerful people only too willing to take advantage of those they see as far below them .... and here in Australia we have several parliament buildings full of them types.

Sadly its a mindset perpetuated by many years of men believing themselves superior and women accepting it as a matter of course. And JC is right to assign blame to both parties. Throughout history women have used their 'charms' to get what they want and men took advantage of it. Cleopatra did it when she seduced both Julius Caesar and Marc Antony to become queen of Egypt. So today if a woman walks into a place looking for a job and the boss says do this to get it she has a choice. Either she complies and maybe gets the job or she balls up a fist and flattens him then moves on. I'd like to think the shoe is on the other foot now and the so called weaker sex is finally stepping up and saying enough is enough. 

BTW: One of the fastest production cars in the world was designed by a woman. Its sleek, sexy and will blow your doors off. Point being equality is a hard thing to come by and sometimes the journey can be costly. History will always repeat itself because nobody learns from mistakes made. The present state of the world is a clear example of that.
