Never have I ever seen this. I went looking for disk cleaner. Imagine my surprise when I saw an empty folder. Went online looking for a solution and was given three different ways to access them. From control panel, settings and going to all apps and windows administrative tools only to find that folder empty as well. You can't access what isn't there to access. What kind of a clusterf**k is this!?
It all started with Chrome acting up more than usual. It took its time opening and going to other sites and sometimes it would hang. I've gotten used to it by now. Then it gets updated and things go south in a hurry. After a bit with Chrome open it suddenly decided not to work. Wouldn't scroll, couldn't use the scroll bar, click on sites in the bookmark bar and nothing happens. The only things working are the min/max close buttons, that's it. I close the browser thin...
Just updated ASC to version 12 and IObit's Uninstaller to version 8. They've been busy. Second screenshot shows the new GUI with the animation and the first I didn't believe until I saw it. With Uninstaller v8 you can now uninstall the program by right clicking on the desktop icon, systray icon and another I don't remember lol.
Its bad enough Win 10 gets screwed up with these 'updates' all the time. Now MS in its infinite stupidity is gonna take our desktops away. Add another bill to your collection folks 'cause MS wants to go full on subscription for Windows. If I want to rent a machine I'll go to Rent-A-Center. I shouldn't have to pay rent on the OS that makes it work too. That's just insane!
It came and went and my laptop has yet to blow up so...I guess its ok except, the article says not to use IE or Edge. Good thing I don't use either one. Lol
An hour after I booted my laptop it decides to shut down. Your PC has encountered a problem and needs to shut down. Ok, no problem. I open up MalwareBytes and start a full scan. Two minutes into the scan and my Laptop does it again. WTF #1. I wait for it to boot up and open MalwareBytes again. And again it shuts down two minutes into the scan. WTF #2. Eff this, I open up Comodo. Update the signatures then did a full scan now in progress. My laptop has not shut down. Clearly the version of Malwar...
I run MalwareBytes every other day. Today I updated the data-base then ran the scan. When the scan finished MB said it found 705 pups, potentially unwanted programs, 705! Go to details and every file, registry entry, folder etc. that was Advanced System Care had been quarantined! HUH!! Say what! I ran MB day before yesterday and it did not touch ASC. Now all of a sudden its on MB's hit list. Now I have to reinstall ASC and wonder...if I run MB again will it do the same thing? Suggestions....
Recently updated Flash player for Chrome because the plugins would not load and that temporarily fixed the problem. Now its doing the same thing. Using TinyPic for image hosting instead of photobucket (too much of a hassle getting it work right). Installed FireFox and it loads the plugin on TinyPic but not here. Chrome won't load any plugins at all. Both the browse for preview and file are blank, no plugin loaded. What the blank can I do to correct this. No sense making skins if I can't ...

Another woe for MS. A bug found in its browsers, IE11 and Edge, gives hackers access to your browser and you're along for the ride.

Yesterday Win 10 updated itself. New feature added plus a cumulative update a d a security update. Hours it took to download. So I put my laptop to sleep for the night figuring the download would proceed. It did. Woke it up and for some time it was stuck on 8% install for the new feature. Finally the install happen. And do did Windows. Working on updates.....from seven am to noon time to finish working on updates. Then rin disk cleanup to remove all...all of the left overs. I gained 19 gigs on t...

While organizing files and stuff, clearing space on my hard drive and sending some stuff to my backup HD, my system began to slow down to nearly a crawl. I thought perhaps it was ASC as I recently upgraded to the latest version. Turns out that was not the case. Opening explorer became a pain, almost a full minute to open. So...long story longer...I did a system restore from a backup system image. An hour goes by. System restore completes and restarts...and restarts again after claiming it had en...
Lately, more like several months, I've been using Win 10. Despite the fact that I had, past tense, Win 8.1 on my laptop. I no longer do. I have been doing everything on Win 10 now and completely forgot about 8.1 so...I 86'd it. Gained almost 400 gb in the process too. All the proggies I used on Win 8.1 I have on 10 plus I have multiple backups, all external. I guess you could say I succumbed to the inevitable...kinda sorta. Lol
I have God Mode and this could be trouble.
Apple's QuickTime isn't being patched according to the article. I know its on Win7 but not on 8.1 or 10. The Department of Homeland Security urges those who have it to uninstall it due to security flaws.
The article said it does not install any software on its own and it has a just minted Digi-Cert SHA256 certificate MS hasn't seen before. Also it can be used easily by non experienced users to prevent the upgrade. YMMV
