So I'm looking for ways to disable the charms bar in 8.1 and I came across a few things. One is a registry hack which I am loath to do because all it does is disable the hot corners. Slide along the edge and it'll come back. That's not a solution. I can disable the two hot corners, top left and right, through task bar properties but again...not a real solution. What I'd like to do is get rid of it, period. Winearo has an app called a charms killer which effectively takes it out b...

I just got Object Desktop. Everything works now
Auto updates worked fine for a while until today. There were 68 updates and it was stuck on number 41 for over two hours! Hell with that. I forced a shut down, restarted and the updates went through anyway. No fuss no bother. Then I changed the settings. Updates will download but I'll decide if they get installed. Shades of Win 10......
I don't know about you guys but adultery IMO is a serious breach of trust between partners. The website was hacked and personal info on 37 million people, some government workers, was put out there for all to see. From where I sit......you made your bed...now sleep in it.
Hi folks, I'm getting back into stuff a little at a time and I was wondering. Does anyone still use SMX?
Read this in yahoo finance. Article has a brief interview with SD's CEO Brad Wardell and a nice pic of the boss.
Seems the backlash worked. Remains to be seen though.
Watching weather channel and a report of multiple tornados, 14 counted, around the region. Isn't Stardock in that area? Hope everything is ok.
So now I got cable. I found the weather channel and they show videos of all that crazy weather happening in the mid west. I saw one of a tornado forming live, in real time. I saw the wind whipping around it coming from the right and as it was sucked up into a monstrous storm cloud they call a super cell. Bolts of lightning so bright they leave after images on the TV screen and the thunder, turn up the volume and it sounds like a freight train with your name on it. Also there are storm chaser web...

Do ghosts exist? Maybe...
Tonight between 2am and 4am (Saturday in the early am), weather permitting North America has a front row seat for this first time meteor shower. Up to 1000 an hour can not be discounted quoting the article. Its cloudy out there.
Went to MalwareBytes website and read some of the forum posts. No help there. Uninstalled Mbam and downloaded a new one for a clean install. After the uninstall using ASC's uninstaller which takes out left over files did a reboot and installed Mbam. Ran it and the same thing happened. Back to the website where another post says to delete rules.ref. So I did that and tried again to run Mbam. No help there either. Did three online scans with TrendMicro, Kaspersky and Bit Defender and all came ...
Sitting at CrossRoads I asked a friend why he didn't bring his laptop with him. He told me it froze. I asked what happened and he said "I went to an adult site". Duh......most likely he got nailed with a virus that took out his system. Anyway...he'd like to know what he can do about it and I told him I have no experience with MacBooks. He has no recovery disk nor any backups and hasn't a clue as to how to get it back. Any suggestions?
I had re-download Everwood IP because somehow I misplaced it. Anyway...when I clicked on the installer package it refuses to load as do others I've downloaded. They don't show up in the list even after refreshing it. The icons, when I can get it to work, show up as a mix match between MS default icons, the previous IP and the one I wanted. Any chance of a fix, update or anything?
